Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed once in Japan, in a tiny little apartment. I got home and realised how much space we have... and since then have been hosting people quite often.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had some excellent people come and stay at our house, and I hope to meet some more excellent people while I'm travelling around.

Interests

Not easily summarised, but here is a short selection that comes to mind: summer, new places, new people, cooking, partying, wine & cheese, drawing, reading, ridiculous conversations.

  • architecture
  • cooking
  • wine
  • cheese
  • partying
  • reading
  • traveling
  • drawing
  • music

Music, Movies, and Books

Again a short selection...
books... a species of spaces (and other georges perec stuff), the bone people, all visitors ashore, almost anything by salman rushdie or tom robbins, i quite like short stories, and there is usually something of the non fiction genre nearby.
music... all sorts, really. wilco, animal collective, four tet, the beatles, the ruby suns, beck, the national, ariel pinks haunted graffiti. thats what springs to mind right now, but much much more. always interested in new music recommendations.
movies... yes, i like them. but i'm terrible at remembering the names of good things i have seen. the other day on the aeroplane i saw the watchmen. which i rather enjoyed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hate to narrow it down to one thing, because i'll probably think of something better in about five minutes. But the hexagonal rock caves I saw just out of Kinosaki Onsen in Japan were quite outrageous.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can always cook up a storm for anyone i was staying with, or talk architecture and various related topics for hours, or share a multitude of music that i have on hand.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cook Islands, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
