About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Let me live, love and say it well in good sentences." (Sylvia Plath)
ABOUT ME
I'm just an ordinary girl. I am restless and a dreamer, ambitious and brave about things I'm passionate about, sometimes shy, always kind. I think a lot, read a lot, write a lot, dance a lot, walk a lot.
PHILOSOPHY
Rest.
Nature.
Books.
Music.
Such is my idea of happiness.
(Leo Tolstoy)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few people when I was still living in Helsinki, one of them becoming a good friend who has since returned to Finland a few times. I've surfed here and there around Europe during two interrail trips I made in the past years. And I've met such wonderful, kind and welcoming people - and these meetings are what Couchsurfing for me is about.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A few meetings, hosted a couple of people, surfed around Europe in the summers of 2010 & 2014.
Interests
I love mornings.
I solve all my problems by going for a walk in the park.
When it's raining, I open my window to hear the sound of it and to smell the rain.
I spent so much time in libraries in my childhood that to this day, whenever I feel lonely or homesick, I can just go to a library, any library, and feel comforted. I often do this - visiting libraries - when I'm traveling.
Sundays are made for baking while listening to Billie Holiday.
Friendships are made over cake and coffee.
I was made to move and to use my body in as many ways as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
Two movies above all: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain & Lost In Translation.
Music: Of Monsters and Men, First Aid Kit, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, The Tallest Man On Earth, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Lumineers, She & Him, Mumford & Sons, James Blake...
I don't want to list any favorite books or authors here. It's not relevant for me, somehow. I am always reading something and all of it stays with me and transforms me in one way or another. I don't need to put the books I read on any scale, saying one is better than another. They all have their equal value for me in the moment I am reading them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After I graduated from the university with an MA I dropped everything and moved abroad to study what I really wanted to do in life: dance.
I came to Germany for a three-year education in contemporary dance which I now recently finished. I am now embarking on the next extraordinary adventure - trying to make it as an artist. It is a life that's at times very difficult, painful and exhausting, but at the same time more inspiring than anything I ever did before, and I am stronger and more myself than ever before.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm great with baking cakes. And pretty good with dancing and moving and happy to teach and share what I know. At the moment I have a project of learning the handstand and would welcome any kind of help or training company - even if it's just someone being there and laughing with & at me when I fall... ;)
