Kia Ora!

I a 24 year old, Chinese-New Zealand girl who is chasing her greatest excitement. I believe in the search for love, connection and inner peace. Nature is my playground.

My favourite way of travelling is to feel the energy of a place, and to wander around without expectations, keeping myself open to opportunities that come up. My best travel memories have been from unplanned experiences!

Currently I am studying law at the University of Amsterdam for a semester on exchange. For many years, I volunteered for an educational NGO because I believe that a wholesome education for every human being is the key to solving all social problems. One day, I hope to build education systems in developed and developing countries.

My life philosophy is that my internal emotions are reflected back to me by the universe. Giving love and light to myself and to others will only bring more of it =)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to couchsurfing and have never done it before! I would really like to see the world from the eyes of locals. More importantly, I believe that it is the people in a place that really give it meaning.

After meeting people from other countries, I realise that although we all hold different values and habits—in the end we all laugh, cry, love and hurt the same. It is these people, who have challenged my beliefs, helped me grow, and shared with me some of the best experiences of my life through food, conversation and laughter.

I am looking for the simple joy of being in the company of another and learning about a different way of life.

Interests

I love food. I love to cook for people and to visit markets trying all the local produce!

I run, hike and dance Zouk (a Brazilian partner dance). For me, dancing is an expression of the soul that makes me feel creative, beautiful and present in the moment.

My favourite book is 'One Day' by David Nicholls. It is such a raw and imperfect love story, a funny and pragmatic reflection on life.

Skydive from 16,000 feet in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand! Amazing. Scary. And absolutely beautiful.

I can teach you how to cook a Kiwi breakfast with poached eggs! I can even try to teach you how to dance salsa and zouk =D

If you love music, we can sing or play together.. especially if you have a piano haha. Disney songs are my favourite =)
