About Me

Hello everyone, Salma here!

I've joined Couchsurfing -the website- recently, but I've been couchsurfing (the concept) for almost a couple of years now, and have learned so much and met truly amazing people in the process.

I am Tunisian, and I'm currently living in France.

Okay, on to the shameless self promotion part: I'm a very outgoing, open minded person. A bit of a neat freak, but nothing too extreme. I like to think that I'm funny, sincere and eclectic. I'm absolutely passionate about meeting new people and learning from their differences.
I am very curious about other cultures and I see this is an opportunity to grow, enjoy, and create awesomeness beyond anything we can imagine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have stage fright. And I don't mean like in a cute-oh-feel-my-hand-it's-shaking kinda way, nope, I mean like in a call-an-ambulance kinda way. Not pretty. At some point, I just went ahead and applied to host an event with an audience of more than 900 people... And got the job.
I then went on to host that event on a yearly basis for 4 years. It was a beautiful growth experience.

I also have a staggering fear of heights, I get dizzy even climbing the ladder to get my cat (which by the way happens more often than I'd care to admit..) So I've gone and done it! I went base flying in Berlin at the first chance I got. I may or may not have cried and asked for my mom, but that's not the point.

The point is, both were such freeing and empowering experiences. And I only hope to keep waking up with the willigness and the aspiration to challenge myself further everyday. Couchsurfing, I believe, is one way to do just that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A pleasant conversation, a good laugh, traditional Tunisian food and/or handcrafted clothes, accessories and pastries that I often like to bring as gifts to people I visit, help with technical problems (I mean hey, I am slaving over engineering studies, might as well put them to good use..).
