I started couchsurfing recently as I was completing my MA program in Istanbul. I went to Jamaica and lived there for 2 years, now I recently moved back to the US!

I love to travel, but I also like to show guests around my home. It's something that I appreciate from my hosts as well.

I want to understand the local culture better, and often this is the hardest thing to discover while travelling. I think couchsurfing is a great way to get an insider's view of life.

兴趣

I like learning languages, travelling and making new connections. I like history and imagining the history unfold during my travels. I'm also a huge foodie - I think eating and drinking my way through a city is the best way to explore. I also love music, especially traditional and folk types.

I love poetry, especially if its written by Mawlana Rumi and Shams-e-Tabrizi. My favourite book is The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak. I have a wide range of music that I like, but I'm a big fan of Arabic music as well as Bossa Nova, traditional Balkan beats, etc. You'll find lots of Fairouz, Abdel Halim Hafez and Mashrou Leila on my ipod.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I took the world's second most dangerous flight route - from Khorog to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on a 50 year old small airplane that literally weaved through mountains. Also, snorkeling in the Red Sea is an experience I'll never forget.
