About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience the world through people, culture, food, and dance!

ABOUT ME

Hey everyone,
My name is Rigo, I am Mexican-American but have grown up and live in Los Angeles, California.
I have been salsa dancing for the last 8 years, I even did it professionaly for a while, but now I just do it for fun, and boy is it fun!
A few summers ago I took a 4 month backpacking trip through Europe. I went to the Czech Republic in June of 2009 to volunteer... I was helping rebuild a 13th Century Castle! It was an amazing experience and I fell in love with European culture. So I decided to go back the following month and I backpacked for 3 months! I met so many amazing people and saw so many great things. I stayed mostly at hostels, but I couch surfed a couple of times as well, and those were definitely my favorite experiences. While in Europe I went salsa dancing in almost every city I visited! Amazing! I have also met couchsurfers in China and have hosted several people.
My latest adventure was a trip around the world with a stop in Thailand where I got married :) We stopped in Maui, Tokyo, Thailand, Dubai, Italy, Spain, and London.
Now I'm back at work. I'm a Senior Product Manager at an Internet company but I still like to get away whenever possible. .

PHILOSOPHY

Life is all about experiences in life... meeting people, seeing new things, tasting new food, learning new languages, experiencing new cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf whenever I can, and host people as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed in Barcelona, Germany, China, and Poland. Staying with someone who knows the local culture is definitely a much better experience than just staying at a hostel. I am a BIG fan of couch surfing and now do it whenever possible.

Interests

Salsa Dancing, learning new languages, meeting new people, trying new food, reading computer books (yes I am a computer geek), swim, run, cycle.

Teach, Learn, Share
