ABOUT ME
“The birth of the thought of 'I' is the birth of a person and the death of that thought is the death of that person. Identifying yourself with your body makes you falsely identify others with their body."
-Sri Ramana Maharshi
PHILOSOPHY
Your own Self-realization is the greatest service you can render the world.
- Sri Ramana Maharshi
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have surfed in Canada, USA, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Australia, Italy, UK, Ireland, Norway, Hungary and The Netherlands. I attended a few events organised through couchsurfing in Malaysia and Scotland.
I hosted people for nine months while living in Vancouver and am keen to balance out my surfing/hosting ratio by hosting guests next time I have authority to do so.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since 2008, I've mostly had good experiences and met great people. Honest hospitality is a treasure. There have been a few negative experiences but they taught me lessons I needed to learn at the time.
Interests
I live in Tiruvannamalai and try to practice the spiritual teachings of my guru Ramana Maharshi. I practice yoga daily. I spend a lot of time visiting sacred sites wherever I am.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read yogic texts and books on Indigenous wisdom of the lands I am visiting.
I like bhajans and folk music mostly. I have discovered the joys of programs like Amazon Music, Spotify, Soundcloud etc so am listening to lots of interesting stuff pretty much constantly. I like to sing and love going to see live music, but if the music's bad I can't stick around for very long!
Don't really watch films but I do watch the occasional documentary, usually about some interesting culture.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived daily in peace without desiring more than what I have.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like the ethics of work trade. Don't be afraid to ask for anything in this regard. I love WWOOFing and also use www.workaway.info when traveling.
I am a qualified energetic healer in a couple of modalities. I am also qualified as a tantra yoga teacher through Heart of Shiva Tantra Yoga.
I have a Teach English as a Second Language qualification, I could help people with English skills
We can have good conversations about sustainability, spirituality and cultural perspectives
I want to learn:
*To cook
*Gardening
*Nutrition
*To build a house/shelter
*Different healing modalities
*Dance
*Languages
*Your local spiritual culture
But mostly just to be free and happy.
