About Me

I'm a nerd for these four things: history, fantasy fiction, N64, and wrestling. I recently became a vegetarian, mainly because of the impact of mass livestock farming on the environment, and am a dab hand in the kitchen. I swim and cycle regularly but don't particularly like running, because I've got a bum knee (the left one, if you were thinking of aiming for it). I'm outgoing, keen for new experiences and a versatile conversationalist. I live in Germany, in Berlin, and have done for the last 3 years. I'm a walking tour guide in the city. I also write fantasy fiction – which is hopefully how I'll be making my living sometime down the line...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My job involves giving people the inside track on what has gone on, and what is currently going on, in Berlin. Hence, I'm well aware of the value of local experience when it comes to travelling. And there ain't no better way to get the local experience than to stay with locals.

Interests

Fantasy fiction, history, professional wrestling, computer games (mainly N64, though I'm also a sucker for the Final Fantasy games on PS1 – VII, VIII and IX), hiking, the sea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Whilst living in London, I tutored a teenager from a much less privileged background than my own in the hopes that he could achieve good enough grades in school to go on and study engineering in college. He got his grades, and went on to study engineering in college.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lively sense of humour and keen conversation, mad cooking skills, the locations of all the heart pieces in The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and how to defeat both Ruby and Emerald weapon in FFVII.
