Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently searching for a job and flat to live in for the next two years and am looking for a place to stay until then. A little too old for the hostel games, and when I get a place of my own I'm keen to help out and offer similar assistance to other travelers :)

Interests

History, current affairs, tv, movies, cooking, exploring new cultures & having a good laugh. Bit of a nerd, but love a good restaurant or bar too. As a bartender of 12yrs, have an extensive knowledge of craft beers & cocktails, and love trying new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love pretty much all music, but favourites would have to be 70's/80's hard rock (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Who etc). Ditto with film, save for (most) rom-coms and cheesy teen films I love everything. TV I prefer , doco's or drama, not into soaps but can put up with them in the background. Scifi & Fantasy probably favourite genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm lucky to have led a very eventful life so it's hard to pin down a few. I've cheated death three times, I've served royalty, sporting legends & heads of state, I've been on a week long music roadtrip to see some of the greatest bands of all time & I filmed & broadcast the first ever Greens party bill to pass any parliament in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Twelve years in hospitality has taught me a few things in both the kitchen and the bar, and I would be more than happy to teach my recipes & skills for cooking and cocktails. I am also a very good model painter, so if you're into the nerdy side of things I'd be pleased to help :)
