Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Sam, I'm nearly 21, and I'm here to travel and meet people, either in France or in the world, my main plan is to get out of the ordinary run of things, and meet, learn and teach new things. Share what I know, but mainly see different lifestyles. I mean, you know.. Our world is so rich of different things, i feel like I would be wasting a life not searching to discover and understand them. I always try to keep a good spirit, I'm young and open-minded (Well at least I hope I am). So it would be a pleasure to meet you and discover in which environment you live, who ever you are.
I love writing, I have already written some theater plays (I have already 4, and the fifth is coming soon), a philosophical essay (nearly 140 pages), and some poems (I might make a miscellany of them). I like reading too. I love sport, especially Football, but I also enjoy following Tennis, Rugby and Cycling too. I love the Olympics as well (all these countries fighting to get a golden medal, I love that. By the way I have practiced many sports : Basketball, Swimming, Capoeira, Football (as a goalkeeper), Badminton, Handball... I must say this isn't all, because I do take pleasure following politics too, and that since I'm young. I enjoy the debates in which politicians argue with eloquence, beauty and persuasion, and fight with all their heart for what they think is true (even if I find nowadays more and more fight for their own interest, and not their intimate convictions). I love having long discussions or debates around a table with a nice glass of wine or a beer. I like acting, being a goofball, reason why I really enjoy Theater of the Absurd. Later I'd love to be a journalist, and have my own radio broadcast either here in France, or in an English-speaking country (like Britain or Australia, per example).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well first of all I'm on Couchsurfing because I love travelling, no matter where I go, I know there are things to be discovered, and people that feel the same way I do, that I could meet. I have grown in a trinational family half English and Irish on my mother's side and french on my father's one. My father traveled a lot while he was my age going to Peru, Nepal, Greece, India... And my mother used to live in the United States, so I am familiar with different cultures, types of food... And as many young adults my age, I want to travel, discover the world, and visit as many countries as possible while I still can.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading, especially Philosophy : Montaigne, Rousseau, Voltaire (These 3 are such inspirational writers), Cicero, Descartes, Edgar Morin, Hume, Montesquieu, Onfray... I enjoy drama as well : Beckett, Shakespeare, Molière, Ionesco, Sophokles... And I also appreciate reading writers like T. Ramadan, Bourdieu or Adam Smith. I like all kinds of musics, especially Jazz (Ibrahim Maalouf), American Rap (2pac, B.I.G...), Celtic and Traditional music (Alan Stivell, Tri Yann...), Chill French Rap (Lomepal, Espiiem, Nekfeu...). My favorite films are Shakespeare in Love, Dans les forêts de Sibérie and L' Amour dure 3 ans (because Gaspard Proust is an awesome humorist), I like to watch back Louis de Funès, Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and Tony Robinson films (they are great actors).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help to work on your french or your English, either one. English is my native language, but I don't use it as often as French, which can explain the few mistakes I make sometimes, and that you might have spotted (I speak English more fluently then I write, let's say). And I speak french all the time, I love both languages. And would really ennoble the person how could teach me a bit of Russian or Greek. By the way I'm working on my German, but it's still not great, and I would really want to learn Spanish, because it will surely be useful for me later.
