About Me

I'm currently an undergraduate student living, studying and working in the capital. I love being outside and I'm always happiest when in a canoe! Community means a lot to me - during the school year I live/work in my university's residences and so it's been really fun change having an apartment this summer to host friends. As per the usual on this site, I love travel and adventure and meeting new people. I'm also convinced that I laugh more than the average human!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always say that strangers are just friends you haven't met yet. I don't say that to be naïve; on the contrary, I think it's always important to be wise about who you trust. However, some of the most wonderfully interesting conversations I've had have been with people I met in a coffee shop, a hostel dorm room, the public park by my house. Humans are fascinating and I think it's important to work at changing our perception of strangers, looking for the good and the amazing and the unique in people you meet. And I value hospitality; welcoming people into your life and personal space is a gift we all can give.

George Ezra, Hamilton the Musical

Inception, Mamma Mia, Les Mis, Pitch Perfect, Moana, Jumanji, Bed Knobs and Broomsticks

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn random skills. In high school an exchange student with whom I had a major language barrier taught me to solve a Rubix cube and since then I realized that literally anyone can teach you something new. I love to exchange language skills, share stories, talk about hiking/camping/canoeing gear/tips, learn new recipes. I can teach you to bake bread or knit or show you my favourite coffee shops and places to eat in Ottawa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to laugh and share stories...I'll bring a positive attitude and an open mind!
