About Me
I am 18 years old and I have Downs Syndrome. I live with my mum and am in full time education.
I have never been travelling before, just on family holidays but I am looking forward to my trip with my brother to USA in July.
I have a great sense of humour.
Please note, I have written this with the help of my brother Jon: http://couchsurfing.com/hooperjon
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing as my brother: http://couchsurfing.com/hooperjon
is taking me on a trip to Eastern USA in July to celebrate my 18th birthday. I want to experience travel like he has and want to meet exciting new people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have got the train on my own and I have performed in local plays, I also do work experience as a park ranger everyweek.
Though this may sound like something really simple, I think that it is amazing.
I was able to safely make my way to the trainstation use the correct money, buy a ticket, go to the correct platform and board the correct train. Make sure I got off at the correct stop and went to my destination. This is something I have done which I think is amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
As mentioned earlier, I have a disability (Downs Syndrome). Though this does not limit me, I am a young energetic man who is capable and wants to be independent. I can cook, I am learning how to use transport independently and one day I hope to be able to live that way.
I hope that by meeting me you can realise how able some people are and what the best way to help them is.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a really good sense of humour. I like meeting new people and sharing stories.
By meeting someone new I will learn more about different ways people live and hopefully I can share a new style of life with you too.
