About Me

Hi I'm Sam.

I was born in Korea and moved to Australia when I was eight years old and have lived in Melbourne ever since.
I'm a second year commerce and engineering student at Monash University and am currently working as a tutor teaching maths to high school students.
I'm still relatively new to couchsurfing and I hope you will consider my applications and also come to stay in Melbourne when I am able to host.
I'm always down to make new friends and can't wait to meet you!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first joined Couchsurfing in an attempt to push myself outside of my comfort zone and meet a variety of people while exploring new places, but little did I know that it would turn into something so amazing. The people I've met and the friends I've made have been a wonderful addition to my life. I hope to continue to experience this as well as help others experience the same joys.

Interests

I want to hear everyone's stories.
I am not well travelled but would soon like to be and I've enjoyed playing sports my whole life.
More than sightseeing I love to meet new people and talk to them.
Not the best chess player, but always down for a game or two.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't listen to too much music, but I'm easy to please and don't judge other people's tastes.
As for my favourite movie it would probably be Shawshank Redemption and I also really like The Wolf of Wall Street.
Dr Dolittle was one of the first books I read after learning English which I enjoyed very much.
I have watched a whole bunch of anime and read a lot of manga too

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've volunteered to help indigenous children from the Northern Territory with maths which was a really rewarding and awesome experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to help you learn english or even some very basic/rudimentary korean. I'm also hoping to learn your native language with the hope that one day I will be able to hold a conversation in your native tongue.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not the greatest cook, but I'd love to help if needed and with any cleaning also I can share things about Korean culture and Australia and hopefully a fun time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
