About Me

Hey ya'll! My name is Sam, I'm a 21 year old from California, currently living in Barcelona, Spain. I'm an adventure seeker of all kinds, I love being outdoors whether hiking, biking, backpacking, swimming, cliffjumping, rockclimbing or just taking in some good ol' sunshine. I have many passions and ambitions; I'm studying Environmental Studies and Linguistics, and most of all I try to be a mindful and compassionate steward of the natural planet. Some may call me a treehugger of sorts, and you're damn right I'm a treehugger.
What more? Well I love music and art of all kinds, I have attended numerous music festivals and concerts and I always play some tunes, whether rock, jazz, soul, indie, EDM, Latin, hip hop, or classical. I am fascinated by modern street art but my heart is pulled most by classic works of Picasso, Rembrandt, Dali, and others. I also play piano and can strum a guitar alright, if you have instruments let's jam!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a traveler at heart. I am fascinated by and wish to experience first-hand the many cultures and societies of the world, tasting all the foods, hearing all the languages, feeling the different ground beneath my feet and sights in front of my eyes. Of course, I am a broke college student so high-end hotels are definitely not on my agenda, but even if I could afford such a thing I'd rather be here on couchsurfing meeting all you cool people because I want to meet the locals and get the most immersive experience possible when I travel. I love the discomfort of small rooms and thin beds and funny smells and a whole city of sights and sounds right outside my window. Also, when I'm not out on my own travels, I'm so glad to be able to host other travelers on their own journies! I love meeting new people from all over the world and learning about their lives so I am more than happy to host. Don't speak English? No problem, languages and communication interest me beyond most things so no language barrier will keep us from having a good time!
