About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am interested in education as a method of primary prevention, the physiological mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and the human stress response, and the biosecurity of a food supply to prevent transmission and evolution of infectious pathogens. Currently, I seek to travel and learn as much as I can from other people and other cultures around the world.

ABOUT ME

I am in the final year of my Epidemiology graduate program at the University of Arizona. I have a B.S. in Physiology and a minor in Creative Writing, as well as extensive experience as an instructor, tutor, and mentor. I enjoy active work and critical thinking. I am employed by the University of Arizona as an instructor for a beginning physiology course and teach the foundations of histology, bones, muscles, and the nervous system.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to enjoy whatever I encounter and to learn from my mistakes.

"All fixed set patterns are incapable of adaptability or pliability. The truth is outside of all fixed patterns." - Bruce Lee

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In 2013, I was lucky to CouchSurf as I traveled throughout Europe and worked with the Homeless World Cup organization. My experiences with hosts abroad were outstanding. While I hope to return the favor as a host some day, I am nothing more than a surfer at the present.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Madrid, Spain | Milan, Italy | Stockholm, Sweden | Innsbruck, Austria | Dublin, Ireland | London, England

Interests

Narrowing my interests to an even four: physiology, education, tennis, chess.

Overall, I really enjoy extended conversations--especially those over a nice beer at the end of the day.
