Overview
About Me
I’m a student of Persian at Edinburgh University. Can usually being found kicking around Central Asia or the Middle East!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To explore countries properly. My favourite travel experiences have all involved staying not in hotels but with locals. The insight offered by a resident is always far more interesting than a guidebook and the final experience a hundred times better.
Interests
I would describe myself as a certified mountain-addict. A mix of trips to Scotland and 6 months in the Himalayas has got me hooked and now, if I can go up something somehow, I probably will. I am still a fairly amateurish climber (hopefully slowly improving) and relish any opportunity to practice, the more wild and remote the location the better!
I am studying Persian language, history and culture at school as well as broader Islamic history, topics that have always fascinated me. I love studying the roots and stories behind languages and will always try and learn a few words wherever I go. If you have stories to tell about your country's history or politics, I would be delighted to hear them.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm big into films and have a whole load of different favourites for different times! For example: Gladiator, Master and Commander, Let the Right One In, Pulp Fiction, What We Do in the Shadows, or About Elly.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Saying anything other than 'nothing' here goes against all my self-deprecating British instincts. I am an ok cook and a pretty clean person. I can share stories and (only if you want to hear them) views on history and politics. I'm not down for hosting but if we get on, my flat in Edinburgh is always open.
