I'm a cruise ship piano bar entertainer. I currently work for Holland America Line on a contract basis and have a month overlap for June 2024 during which I'm excited to stay with some new people/make friends and learn about Columbus and the world in ways I have not before, since I am not renting here anymore. On cruises and between contracts I've traveled across the US, meditated, journaled, and read extensively. I am always looking to find new food and travel recommendations. I also enjoy drinking, and hope some day to learn Spanish and dancing (currently not doing either). I love hiking, random road trips, late night conversations, and listening to full albums on whatever medium is available. I also enjoy walking around urban areas without any particular destination.

Tom Waits, Bukka White, artists i thought i knew/understood but actually didn't, certain hip hop, reggae, soul, R&B, occassional disco, classic 60s and 70s rock, new wave, no wave, some grunge but not all, coen brothers movies, random movies from any era (ie harold and maude, some like it hot, uh, idiocracy, movie 43 kinda, scream, 5 easy pieces, uh, lost in translation, my life as a dog, odd documentaries), old dusty folk blues and world music albums, bazaar classical like Benjamin Britten or creepy atonal/opera.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone piano lessons and basic guitar. If you read music I can provide transcriptions, and if not, I can provide a tutorial video or aerial view piano video you can slow down. I know a lot of the parts to Beatles songs I can teach! ie Martha My Dear, In My Life, Because, Good Day Sunshine, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My listening abilities (I think just listening to someone with openness is so wonderful for me and the person sharing- it energizes me to hear others), my presence (for eckhart tolle nerds haha- i listen to his books nightly on audiobook), my eager interest in and possibly adoption of many of your hobbies, creativity and random idea generation (some decent ones may be stumbled upon and then quickly discarded), maybe a laugh or several...
