Overview
About Me
I’m an Egyptian-American raised in Abu Dhabi. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at Purdue University. I speak English, Arabic, and am learning French (would love to practice if you speak)! I love trying food from around the world and mixing it up with an Arabic taste. I’m a huge space nerd and I’m not afraid to show it. In my free time I love to take last-minute trips to new places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
During my trip in Southeast Asia I met someone at a homestay who was couchsurfing there. She told me all about how different of an experience it was to stay with locals, and learn about the lifestyle rather than stay with tourists all the time. I am always looking to learn more about the local life, and I love to hear traveler’s stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - a mix of just about everything. I like rap, hip hop, House music, chill beats, jazz, Arabic music. I’m very picky about country music - needs to be the right time and place for me to enjoy.
Movies - anything with Leonardo DiCaprio in it. Also a huge Robin Williams fan (RIP). I like documentaries as much as I love mockumentaries. I probably watched The Dictator 50 times my Freshman year in college. I’m also a huge Lord of the Rings nerd.
Books - My favorite classic author is Hemingway, with Farewell to arms as my favorite book of his. My favorite foreign author is Paulo Coelho; Eleven Minutes is amazing. Favorite series would have to be the Redwall series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went on my first solo trip for 7 weeks in Southeast Asia this year!
Teach, Learn, Share
How to make the perfect paper airplane.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I grew up in a traditional Egyptian household, although I was raised to connect my background to the world. I truly consider myself a world citizen, and I love to make connections between my own background and other cultures. Through food, language, and customs, I love to share my own culture in exchange for learning about your own.
