Overview
About Me
I'm a game designer, a back-country explorer, and an avid traveler (or at least aspiring to be one).
I live in the heart of Vancouver, work at an awesome company, and do all sorts of things in my off-time. A few of the highlights: I'm the president of a local Toastmasters club, learning to dance bachata, and working on a novel (albeit slowly).
In the summers I spend a lot of time outside. I love the forests, mountains and lakes we have in BC. Fortunately there seems to be a near endless number of them to explore.
I'm fairly outgoing, but I prefer hanging out with small groups of friends instead of going to parties. I'm not a big drinker either. More often than not, I'd rather be able to drive home at the end of the night than get drunk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really like the idea of a global community sharing their space and energy, with no money entering the picture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like anything with a good beat. I seem to quickly get bored of hearing the same thing, so I tend to listen to a lot of different indie artists on Spotify.
Movies: I gravitate towards big ideas and fascinating characters. A few favorites that come to mind: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, The Imitation Game, City of God, Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump.
Books: I always have a book on the go, and tend to read it daily. I go though both fiction and non-fiction in fairly equal measure. A few recent books that stood out: Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela, Uprooted by Naomi Novik, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson, 10% Happier by Dan Harris
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 15 I did a pretty amazing ATV tour through the Utah desert. Rarely have I had a greater sense of freedom and self reliance.
