About Me

My name is Sam, they/them, non-binary & androgynous.
I am an extroverted-introvert, INFJ to be precise.
I am a college graduate of International Relations and diplomacy at Louisiana State University, 2017.
I like exploring, hiking, painting, teaching, reading and dancing.
I have been called a goal-oriented free spirit.
I love volunteering and learning communities I find myself in.
I have been a lifeguard, swim instructor, paralegal, face painter, art teacher and a working artist.
I enjoy intimate conversations and learning about new people.
I am a neat-freak and will certainly help with any cleaning.
I find myself very much in need of adventure and travel at this time of my life, and I can only hope that you can assist with this :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Book; currently Pleasure Activism, i love graphic novels, the book that made me cry recently was the Poisonwood Bible. I listen to too many audiobooks at a time.
Movie- don't watch them much now unless some one explicitly suggests something to me but Fantastic Mr. Fox, all Miyazaki movies, O Brother Where Art Thou. A documentary here and there to stay woke.
Music.. let's save that for later.
Killing Eve and Shameless for TV!
I like to listen to podcasts while I paint, faves right now are the Snap Judgment, the Moth, still Processing, Pod Save the People, Ear Hustle, Rough Translation, Ted Radio Hour, Ologies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Realized I'm meant for something more than working a 9-5 job for the state, quit that job, and taken up a life of art and helping others.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach:
Different art techniques, processes, drawing skills and tricks
Beginner swim skills, strokes and water safety
How to read legal documents and what they mean
Make up and costuming ideas and looks
Gardening, plant care
I would like to learn:
Horse riding
Car maintenance
How to de-scale a fish
Welding
Pottery
Farm maintenance, upkeep, crop rotation
Herb and essential oil uses, homeopathy
Chess
Stick n poke tattoos
More ways to make magic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my work ethic if there's anything that needs to be done around the home, including cooking, cleaning, child care and repairs, as well as the things I listed before that I am learned enough in to be able to teach.

Countries I’ve Visited
