About Me

In general I love to travel, however I've had several operations on my hips in the last few years so for now I'm just trying to recover and spend as much time as possible practicing music.
I'm going into the last year of my music degree (I hope) and then waiting to see where life takes me next i s'pose.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just got back to Melbourne from a year in Granada and I'd love to be able to welcome people to this city/country as well as I was welcomed then. Also to meet people and learn about different cultures (bet you've never heard that one before)

Interests

Music, Literature... Anything that allows you to get creative and explore yourself. I've recently been reading a lot about 'Lucid Dreaming' and am currently trying to become a lucid dreamer by following a few techniques which I have been reading in a book I bought about the dream scientist who discovered lucid dreaming (lucid dreaming is the ability to control your dreams). Apart from those my only other real interest lies in traveling and meeting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up listening to pop-punk, punk rock, alternative rock etc. types of Music. The first band I fell in love with was Blink 182, and through them started to discover bands like Fall Out Boy, The Descendents, NOFX, Sum 41, etc. Then I got heavily into Nirvana during the last few years of high school and started to better my taste in music getting into bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Cure, Amy Winehouse, Basement, ELO, Sixto Rodriguez, Dave Matthews Band etc. And now I am getting a lot into acoustic guitar musicians like Elliot Smith and Jose Gonzales. Also recently discovered Sigur Ros who are mind blowing and on top of all of this I love techno, drum n bass and electronic festivals and went to Melt! recently and Outlook last year. Basically I love all types of music!

Movies I don't watch too many of anymore as I don't have the attention span for it so mainly stick to cartoons like South Park, American Dad, Rick and Morty etc. however I love all Leo Dicaprio and Tarantino films, and can pretty much watch any film (Disney films are my favourite).

I read a lot of philosophy books, as I prefer to learn and think rather than read fiction, however Shantaram is my favourite book ever and I recently read crime and punishment which was very interesting. As mentioned before I'm also reading about lucid dreaming which is great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered in Fiji at a school for children (ages 17-24 so men) who didn't have the chance to get an education due to destruction of home through either torn or abusive parental marriages.

Teach, Learn, Share

My favourite quote is 'Destiny is the treasure we find at the awareness of death'. This immediately hit home with me because music is the thing that gives my life meaning as it is my destiny, and I hope that all of you have found your destiny, but if not then nothing can help you find it better than travelling and meeting people so I will help you achieve this.

What I Can Share with Hosts
