About Me
ABOUT ME
I have studied political science at the University of Amsterdam. In October I will move to Cambridge, UK to start my PhD. Besides reading and studying I spend most of my time on going out, hanging out with friends, trying to travel as much as possible and play sports (mostly tennis).
PHILOSOPHY
Never adapt to something for external reasons, because you think you should behave in some way or that you feel pressured. Only adapt for internal reasons, because you feel that changing your behaviour or personality is better for you or your surroundings.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have couch surfed in my travels to Israel and Russia. It has always been great fun and a very nice way to meet locals and get to know a place quickly and deeply in a short period of time. Unfortunately my house in Amsterdam is not really geared up for hosting travelers (which I have done several times in my old house, outside of the couch surfing website) but I am always in for a beer and showing travelers around the city!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have done it a few times during my time traveling around Israel, which was great fun. I'm still in contact with all the people I stayed with and most of them have come to visit me in Amsterdam. It has turned out to be a great way to travel around, get to know new places quick and to meet super cool people. I'm definitely always down to meet and speak with locals when I'm traveling and when I'm home it always feels good to bring travelers further in there trip in the Netherlands. It is just so much easier to find the nice spots and experience the real "living culture" of a city/country if you are actually with people that live there instead of fellow travelers.
Interests
Thinking and laughing I guess. I really like to go out, more specifically I'm very much in to techno-music but I can actually enjoy almost any kind of music when I'm going out with nice people.
I like traveling so much because you experience so much more new and astonishing things in a short period of time, as opposed to just being at home working or studying.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very much interested in the culture of peoples and the way of thinking of individuals. Besides that I'm always interested in politics and history in general. But I'm also eager to learn totally new stuff were I have never thought of or have experience with.
Music is a thing were I would like to know more of, for example.
