ABOUT ME

I'm a Primary School Teacher from Sydney, Australia who recently moved to London in late 2022. After teaching for a few years back home, I decided to try my hand at supply teaching in London and take advantage of it's amazing proximity to Europe.

I'm a social and enthusiastic person with an "approximate knowledge of many things". I consider myself clean, respectful and enjoy helping others.

I've been a DJ, organised music festivals, run 160kms in one go, worked as a chef, eaten a spider, the list goes on!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had two couchsurfing experiences; staying with a group of Belgians in Gent and with a fellow Australian traveller in his apartment in London. Both times proved to be an amazing experience and can't wait to do it again!

We are currently in between apartments in London, and cannot wait to open our doors when we have the space.

Interests

When I'm not working as a teacher, my current passion is trail running. I've been participating in trail running and ultrarunning events for 3 years now and have big race plans in 2023. I'd love to meet some likeminded couchsurfers who also love hitting the trails.

Music, Movies, and Books

I had the pleasure of attending three festivals in my last European trip back in 2018; OZORA, Modem Festival and Drops Festival. If those festivals don't stand out to you, I have a big inclination for electronic music. My music taste has varied a bit since back then and I've recently been on a mid 2000's punk rock / alt-rock binge to relive my past.

As for movies, I've been slowly working my way through IMDB Top 250 and Letterboxd Most Rated lists. Studio Ghibli films are hard to beat, with the Red Turtle being my favourite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed a charity effort in November 2021 to raise money for Movember. I ran along the scenic Bondi to Manly walking route (80km), and back! The 160km run took me 22 hours and was an incredible way to see my home town in a new light. I raised $5000 for charity and finished the run with my first shoey.... Teach, Learn, Share

As a teacher, I'm happy to teach what I know. If you don't have kids who need a lesson, I'm happy to share a recipe, my knowledge of trail running or some specific trivia.
