About Me

I'm a passionate person with a love for life and a dedication towards animal welfare, sustainable food systems, social justice and place-based Indigenous pedagogies. I work as community animator for a non-profit called Farm to School BC, am co-founder of the BC Tiny House Collective, volunteer with Slow Food Vancouver, and I connect to my community through yoga, meditation, climbing and biking, farming, and anything food related.

I live in a 220 square foot tiny house, on a farm that is 1.5 hours North of Vancouver in the forest. I love being outside, exploring the town by foot or bicycle, or curling up with my cat and a book on a rainy evening.

Note: Thanks to many years studying the global food system, I try to eat consciously. That means I generally avoid animal products (unless they are raised in an environmentally, socially, economically and culturally sustainable way) and I prefer to consume food and drinks that are as close to a natural state as possible (limited processing and heritage breeds). I don't waste my food, which means I eat what's in the fridge, not what I'm in the mood for. I know it's difficult to adhere to such a strict philosophy while traveling, and I don't want to impose on anyone's lifestyle, but I do want to help you start thinking about these issues if that's of interest! I'd love to share a meal with you and learn different food cultures, but know in advance that I might not be the easiest person to cook for ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am living in a small town outside of Vancouver and unfortunately am not able to host fellow travelers very often. However, I spent a year surfing couches through Europe and want to return the love when I can.
