CURRENT MISSION

I'm on The Search, in the Walker Percy sense of the term. I'm trying to avoid taking the everyday for granted, and looking to locate the joyful and the sublime hidden in my immediate surroundings.

ABOUT ME

After a considerable amount of paripatetic rambling and heartbreak post-college I've washed ashore in the Bay Area, where I was born. I realized about a year ago that spending all my free time "hanging out" was making me depressed, so I got busy. I lead a charmed life now. I work full-time behind the scenes at an art museum, in a position I more or less lucked into, and evenings and weekends I spend playing music with my band and writing a comic book I'm putting out with a friend of mine. Life, right now, is good; I know it won't always be good, but at the moment it is, and I'm going to ride the wave 'til it breaks.

PHILOSOPHY

I am simply trying to learn on a daily basis more about who I am and what I want, and attempting to perceive and understand the tens of millions of connections that link me to my immediate surroundings and to the world at large.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I rave to all true friends that CS is the only way to go if you really want to be somewhere. Hotels, hostels--you can have 'em. I'll take connections & community any day. I just wish I had more opportunities to host and to travel!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined couchsurfing two summers ago, but after a handful of truly wonderful, eye-opening CS experiences the following autumn I haven't had much opportunity to host or surf since. I'm optimistic this will change in the near future.

Interests

Prose, clothes, and bankrolls.

For real: literature, guitar, comics, football (american and otherwise), live music, the urban wilderness, cheap eats, fun!, togetherness, and meeting people who are different from the sorts i usually hang around with.
