About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of this life...

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Bangladesh, but moved to London for grad school. I fell in love with the city and ended up living there for 5 years, after which I quit my job, travelled around a bit and am now living in Australia.

I've always wanted to live in different parts of the world and experience as much as possible, meeting new people and making new friends - I guess I'm living my dream :)

I like a good conversation as much as I like exploring new places. I like books, good music, eclectic food and when the mood strikes, I like to write and sketch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since Bangladesh is one of the lesser known cultures amongst travellers, I like to give people a bit of exposure to it - either by cooking my guest/hosts a meal, by discussing local tales or by teaching the language. I love learning about similar things from my hosts as well.

I seldom have the chance to host, but when I have done so, it's been a very rewarding experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had the most wonderful hosts so far, and couchsurfing has enabled me to make friends all over the globe, across languages and cultures.

I've made firm friends with my host in Croatia, who ended up embarking on an epic adventure to attend my wedding in Bangladesh; I've made friends with my host in Spain who spoke little English, and my knowledge of Spanish is next to nothing, yet we bonded so well he visited me in London and surfed my couch. This is what I believe Couchsurfing is about - making friends and inviting them into each other's lives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sat atop a dune in the Sahara in the middle of the night counting stars and reflected on the wonders of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Bengali and show you how to make a typical home cooked Bangladeshi meal.

I'd love to pick up tips on photography, drawing and writing.

More than anything, I'd love to hear your stories, travel or otherwise.
