Hi! I'm Sam :) I am an adventurous, positive, open-minded, independent, and creative person. I spent the last couple of months driving down the West Coast of the U.S. in a van with friends, camping and exploring! I am heading back to Vancouver to continue studying Environmental Design at the University of British Colombia.

I am constantly looking to learn, meet new people, and understand other ways of life. I love making positive connections, giving back to the community of travelers, and storytelling.

I grew up in the mountains of Park City, UT and have had a passion for the outdoors ever since I was born. I have been skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and swimming basically as soon as I could walk (or before, if you count my parents carrying me in their backpacks).

I solo traveled for a year when I was 18. Living and working in Maui and Sydney and traveling in New Zealand, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand... I spent three months in Nepal. So many stories, experiences, and people that I am so grateful for.

I'm vegetarian :)

I love reading, writing, drawing, ceramics, basically anything involving creativity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My love to travel combined with my desire to give back to a community of travelers on a low budget!

My first Couchsurfing experience was amazing and I'd love to meet more inspiring people!

I loveeee almost all music. Classical (lots of piano), jazz, hip-hop, rock, indie, electronic, r&b, and I love mixes and when genres are combined!

I like movies that make me cry or laugh or think deeply.

I read a lot, I almost always have my book with me. Some of my favorites are All the Light we Cannot See, Six Nonlectures By EE Cummings, Letters to a Young Poet...
