About Me

My boyfriend (Andy) and I are living in Guelph until December 2015, after which we leave for South America. We are both mid 20s, and both work full time. I am an Ecologist that works on fauna monitoring projects and Andy does biomedical lab work. I do work lots, but am also happy to accommodate travelling to some cities and showing some sites. We love animals, but currently only have a cat. One day would be very happy on a hobby farm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have lived with roommates before who have offered their couches up and they always had great experience. We decided to experience it for ourselves as we may use it while travelling next year. Being a host will allow us to be better visitors.

Interests

My interests are fairly outdoors-y and nature-y, while Andy's are more indoor. However we both enjoy either a walk in the woods or binge watching Netflix.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am into classic rocks and some new songs that I can sing along with. Andy was a DJ in university and likes electronic music. We both love our nerdy interests such as video games and comic books. We also both read a fair amount and a variety- from sci-fi novels to fiction to cheesy romance (obviously that's me not Andy).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

May 2014 two girlfriends and myself backpacked Vietnam. One of my friends has family there so we got to experience the tourist and local side.

Andy's biggest accomplishment is that he has held a world record in a video game for 24 hours (speed running a level in Halo on legendary). I say Andy is amazing in that he has never had big dreams to travel but it is strapping up and backpacking South America with me next year.

Teach, Learn, Share

If anyone was interested in amphibians, reptiles, or avian species I would love to share those experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Besides my constant need for volunteers for field work (but seriously no pressure or commitment to that) we can share a cozy 1 bedroom apartment- with a comfy couch. You can make use of what you find in the fridge or bathroom, get some laundry in and connect to wifi. Guelph doesn't have all that much to offer, but many things in Southern ON are short driving distances.
