Overview
About Me
I'm 23. I'm originally from East London but I study in Nottingham, England. I am an undergraduate studying Law, however, I am currently on a year-long exchange in Istanbul, Turkey, where I am studying a mixture of Law, politics and Turkish. I am also working with Syrian, Iranian and African Refugees for a Non-Profit Organization here in Turkey.
- I love trying new things and having new experiences.
- I have friends from all around the world, and I frequently travel and visit them.
- I'm always looking for opportunities, especially those involving travel, to improve my worldly knowledge, heighten my prospects and sculpt my future goals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since coming to Turkey i've travelled a lot, from Rome to Egypt, Finland to Greece.. During my travels I have stayed in hostels, with friends, with friends of friends and generally just anywhere that will have me haha. I have found that this is the best way to meet new people, learn about new things and make friends from around the world. I believe couchsurfing is the best way for me to do these things and have such encounters and experiences.
Interests
- Reading, writing poetry, watching movies and listening to music.
- Learning about different cultures, religions, countries their history and their current situations.
- I like exploring different places, learning about history, having new experiences and spending my time with new people, learning about them and their experiences.
- Living in Turkey has encouraged me to learn about the Syrian Refugee Crisis that has occurred here in the past two years. I spend a lot of time working with refugees from countries such as Iran, Cameroon, Sierra Leon and Iraq. Helping people in such situations began as a mere interest, but has become a definite passion of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book currently is the Goldfinch by Donna Tart, I do however, enjoy reading biographies of political and religious figures, including 'A Long Walk To Freedom' by Nelson Mandela and 'I Know Why a Caged Bird Sings' by Maya Angelou. I also love ANY book by Vladimir Nabokov.
I'm a HUGE movie buff and I love watching all types of films. My favorites, however, are Tracks, Goodfellas, Fools Rush In, The Incredibles, Iron Man 1,2 & 3, The Avengers and Wedding Crashers.
I love ALL types of music, from Classic, Pop, Dubstep to Hip Hop and Afrobeats. I am, however, not a fan of house or techno.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm very blessed to have done a lot of amazing things at such an early point in my life. However, if I had to narrow it done the most amazing thing to date is Hot Air Ballooning in Cappadocia, Turkey and diving in the Blue Hole, Egypt. I know these are two separate things, however, I just couldn't choose out of the two haha.
Teach, Learn, Share
From my studies and experiences I possess an extensive knowledge of Africa, the Middle-east and situations occurring there. This I could share with individuals whom are yet to acquire such knowledge and have an interest in doing so.
I want to learn about everything to do with your home country, and all the countries you have visited.
I want to share new and exciting memories and hopefully develop a friendship which will last for a very long-time after our couchsurfing experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
- Show them around Istanbul, Turkey and recommend beautiful and interesting places to go, in tourist or non-tourist areas.
- Give them an insight into the political, legal and social on-goings within Turkey.
- Introduce them to food in Turkey, which they may have not tried anywhere else in the world, including the infamous Turkish Breakfast (a personal favorite of mine).
- Share with them my limited, but continuously increasing, knowledge of the Turkish Language and assist them in communicating and getting around in Turkey.
Countries I’ve Visited
