About Me

I'm very laid-back and generally pretty quiet, so whether I'm hosting or visiting chances are you won't even know I'm there. That being said I enjoy conversation over coffee or wine, meeting new people and learning about the world.

Be excellent to each other!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Always a tough question. I'm open to almost anything, but just a few of my favorite musicians are Smashing Pumpkins (pre-reanimation), Paul Simon/Simon and Garfunkel, Fleet Foxes, Hozier, Jack White and all his projects, and others of their kind.

For movies, I'm a Lord of the Rings and Wes Anderson buff and tend to be drawn to stuff like I Heart Huckabees. But I delight in films in general, so I also love the MCU and Star Wars and Intouchables and the Insidious franchise, the Coen Brothers and Christopher Nolan and all the rest.

Books-wise: I of course love LOTR and am currently reading Game of Thrones; I adore Toni Morrison and David Mitchell and Victor Hugo, I grew up reading Hermann Hesse and was nurtured as much by that shadowy Jungian umbilical as I was by real life. I don't feel complete unless I've got a book by my bedside, and I choose those books with care. Any and all recommendations are welcome!

I speak French and a bit of Korean, and as an English teacher/having studied linguistics I adore comparing, learning, and teaching languages. I'm a long-distance hiker and I love to exercise!
