NOTE: Keeping this account for everyone's awareness of a Couchsurfer (profile name: YuanXiang Miao, from Kyoto) tried to charge for a couch and his continued harassment after I left an honest review on his profile
Check my photo album for proof - He has created many fake accounts, one even used my personal photo (downloaded without my consent)
Please note that YuanXiang never listed the donation amount on his profile now or before my request.
After he accepted my guest request, we chatted 3 times over the span of 2 weeks but he never mentioned charging. Only 3 days before we are supposed to meet, he asked for "donation" for 1000 yen. He said that he found his rental, electricity, wifi bills etc are too high, and needed it fixed at 500yen per night. This definitely violated CS rule yet he think I was "stingy and unfriendly"?
I have had showered my host and friends on Couchsurfer to dinner and gifts so I'm definitely not selfish. However his solicitation is utterly rude because YuanXiang Miao is not interested to know you more before he asked money from you (what do you do, time of arrival, how to get in touch with you upon arrival, Nope he didn't care) and you absolutely cannot negotiate the 500 yen rate. Despite my follow up, he stopped replying my texts and calls 2 days before we are supposed to meet.
When I wrote him a neutral review advising fellow CSer to check his donation amount before guesting, he started his harassment for over 2 weeks over Whatsapp, Couchsurfing, and I suspected he has even found my Snapchat and kept sending me lewd messages (the message has similar pattern of calling me "stingy" and "unfriendly")
His fake accounts are deleted now, either after I reported to CS or by himself. Please check my photo album for proof of his fake accounts. Almost everyday 2-3 fake accounts are created to send me the same messages

When I reported Miao to CS safety team, they only banned him for ~5days. I am writing in hope for a more stringent action with my new gathered proof.
Will update on YuanXiang Miao's harassment activity and CS's response
Update on 2nd Oct - Miao created yet another fake account to send me messages calling me "stringy"(meant stingy) and fake reviews. Blocked immediately and reported to CS. Fake account deleted but CS didn't removed his original profile
Update on 3rd Oct - CS responded that they have sent him a strict warning to YuanXiang Miao for trying to charge for a couch and his harassment. Also confirmed his fake accounts had been deleted but not his original profile. However they refused to share details of how many and why do they still keep his original profile

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am closing my account and will not be accepting any guest. Only keeping this as a proof of harassment by a fellow couchsurfer who solicit money for a couch and his harassment using multiple fake accounts
