Hello! I am Sam, 24 years old and from a small town in rural New Zealand. After studying at the University of Otago in New Zealand I moved to Sydney, Australia to start my career in Land Surveying, but after almost two years I knew I wanted more! In August 2016 I quit my job in Sydney to explore the world! Best decision of my life so far! Travelling has opened my eyes to what life is really about, and what is important in life :).

I'm a very happy person who just loves exploring the world and meeting people and discovering what the world has on offer. I love people, food, movies, culture, food, beaches, exploring, adventure type things... i just love life :).

I have met many people whilst travelling who vouch for Couch Surfing, and who say it is such an authentic way to experience a new city, country, culture and way of life. Because no one knows more about the place than the locals :). I want meet people and create friendships with people from around the world! And hopefully, when I eventually return to New Zealand to live, I can host them too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new people, especially locals in towns or cities that I'm interested in travelling to. I want to experience different cultures, foods, smells, sites! It's a great way to experience a local and authentic way of life! I hope that one day many of my hosts can come to New Zealand and let me show you around my homeland :).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been an extra in a Bollywood movie! That was amazing for me at least :).
I've also backpacked around South America, Mexico, Vietnam and Thailand.

I have almost completed my TEFL certificate online, so hopefully will be able to help teach English soon!
