I am heading into my last undergraduate year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am studying Animal Science with a pre-vet concentration and will be applying for vet school the fall of 2017. I was born and raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in a family of five, which includes my parents Linda and Frank and my siblings Amanda and Matthew. I love to cook, dance, read, and spend time with my close friends and family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have lived a very sheltered life with little travel experience outside of the United States and I am itching to get out of my comfort zone and travel somewhere I know nothing about, with the hopes of learning everything I can about that place. I want to experience culture, connect with people, and give in to adventure. Education has been the focus of my life but before I give another 4 years of my life the continuing education of vet school I want to take a chance and travel to Thailand.

I love to cook and enjoy cooking with others so I would love to learn about regional cuisines including techniques used when cooking, ingredients unique to that type of cuisine, and how food connects the people in that region. I also love to dance and have been dancing since I was four so I would very much look forward to sharing my passion for it with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It's important to me that I connect with people. I think to truly be happy in life and to feel that I've lived a meaningful life requires that I form relationships with people to learn more about them and about myself in the process. Happiness is built from very simple things and I find happiness in the connections I have with friends and family. That is my goal for traveling, to meet locals and form new friendships. Basically what I'm saying is I can share friendship, however corny that may sound.
