About Me

Im currently on exchange in Norway studying Environmental Science. I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. I’ve had a love of travel from a young age exploring many parts of North America, including much of Canada and the Southwest United States with my family and independently. During High School, I spent two of my summers living in Quebec learning French and independency. I believe that most life experiences can only be taught outside of a classroom - I can’t wait to discover new parts of the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about the program from some other travellers and I love the idea. Travelling can be overwhelming, especially alone. Couchsurfers gives people the opportunity to meet others whether they stay at their house or just meet up on "hangouts".

Interests

Being outdoors, meeting people, live music

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book has always been To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee amongst other classics of American Literature like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.
When it comes to movies I like the directors Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, but I also enjoy the simple joy of a documentary by Sir David Attenborough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like doing triathlons! In grade 11, I tore my ACL playing Varsity Basketball. After a year of recovery and training, I set a goal of completing my first sprint triathlon. Since then, I started training with the Blomidon Multisport club in the Annapolis Valley and have completed five sprint triathlons and one half marathon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’ve had the opportunity to address social and environmental issues in the community by creating Project Regenerate. With the help of a global organisation called Enactus, my team designed an 8-week workshop that teaches youth different entrepreneurial skills such as marketing, budgeting, ideation, promotion, and more. One of the projects involved youth ages 7-12 recycling crayons from Boston Pizza, forming them into new accessible ones that are easier for persons with disabilities and selling them while applying the various entrepreneurial skills taught to them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Just a positive atmosphere, I love learning from others. I am always eager to help with cooking and cleaning.
