I am 20 years old and I grew up in California and Arizona. For the past few years I have been living in Provo UT going to school at Brigham Young University and now Utah Valley University. I am studying Criminal Justice and plan on pursuing my law degree in Arizona! I have a passion for criminal law. I also have a passion for psychology and may also pursue a degree in that as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going on a backpacking trip through Europe this summer and one thing I am looking forward to most is getting to know the local people in every country! I believe one of the coolest and best ways to do that is to actually immerse myself completely and even live with locals! It would be great to meet new people and be able to see what it's really like living in Europe, not just through the tourist places. When I am done traveling for the summer, I think it would be awesome to be able to return the favor and host people in my own home and help them get to know the culture in the U.S. as well!

Interests

Traveling!!!! (Of course). Learning new things. Reading lots of books! I'm constantly searching for new books to read. Volunteering at various places to help people. Hanging out with my friends and finding new adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music varies greatly! I love just about everything from 80's rock to country to hip hop. There isn't much I don't like!

I also love most movies! Some people don't like that about me because I REALLY like almost every movie, even when it gets horrible reviews!

I read a variety of books, but my favorite ones are true crime novels, non-fiction books (about crimes, people, etc), and fiction romantic-comedy type books! I also enjoy the occasional dystopian book (Divergent / Uglies / Hunger Games).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure if everyone would consider this "amazing" but I sure do!! I spent about a year volunteering and then a year working as a psychiatric technician at the State Psychiatric Hospital in Utah! That is where my big passion for psychology really started. I took care of the patients and got to know all of them and it was truly a life-changing experience! My friends probably get sick of all the stories I had to tell from it, but I will never forget it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to talk to people, so I am willing to share experiences that I have had in my life in the United States if anybody is curious about anything, and I would love to hear any and everything a host would like to tell me about their country! I can cook when I'm given a recipe, so I can do my best to cook, although I'm not sure what the local specialties are! I am great at cleaning and I'm not messy at all, so I can leave your place looking great!
