Overview
About Me
I live in a 100 year old yellow house in South Minneapolis, and when I'm not at work I spend lots of time there cooking for friends, making art, and listening to music. I love books and language, hanging out with my dog, and traveling. I love to host potlucks and take impromptu road trips. I love word games - Scrabble, Bananagrams, Spoonerisms, you name it. I'm pretty much always up for a game.
I try to do whatever it takes to live my life as courageously and compassionately as possible while preserving inner balance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am here to meet interesting people in new places. I get a real thrill from creating a connection where there was none, from turning a stranger into a friend.
I am lucky to have a wonderful extended network of friends in the Upper Midwest and we are so good about putting each other up. I take pleasure in making my home available to others, and have deeply appreciated the hospitality I've received, within and outside the Couchsurfing community.

Music, Movies, and Books
Live music. Folk, jazz, blues, old-time, country, gospel, hip hop.
I am a voracious reader. Some books that I've been especially affected by: The Bean Trees, The Shipping News, The Grapes of Wrath, The Beans of Egypt Maine, The Poisonwood Bible, The Cider House Rules.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've met some really special animals during my travels: A tarsier on Bohol Island, a sloth in Costa Rica, and so many lovely stray cats & dogs.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to cook awesome food for a crowd without breaking a sweat, how to make any kind of book you want, and how to make prints. I love to throw collage (that's collage, not college!) parties, making a big mess with paper and gluesticks.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook. I'd love to make you a meal AND do the dishes!
