ABOUT ME

I'm a cowgirl with French boots. A bad-ass with a heart of gold. A music nut and a vinyl snob, a hopeless romantic and a free spirit. An unconventional hippie (aren't all hippies unconventional by definition?). I like to be a wild one, but I'm an earth mama, too. Rockabilly wannabe. I'm a traveler but wish I was a vagabond - imagine I'll write poetry like the beats one day, so I say daddio and hep-cat and act like it's all just natural. I'm into sustainable lifestyles and building small communities across a global scale. I'm a gourmet chef in my own head. I bake my own bread and grow my own herbs. I'm a big day dreamer and a night swimmer.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm striving to be a happy person that is honest and true to everybody and everything. It takes a lot more energy to be a bitch than it does to be nice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My house is always over-flowing with friends and relatives traveling through Austin. I like creating a safe haven for all where we can cook dinner together and swap stories.

Interests

Cooking, gardening, reading, The Replacements, being crafty, dancing to Jerry Lee Lewis, swimming, hiking, learning about Texas wildflowers and native plants, pretending to be French, yoga, hand rolled cigarettes, Mark Rothko, hillbilly music, whiskey, tequila and red wine, my mom's spaghetti sauce and new adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Old music on dusty vinyl, dirty punk, crooners and shakers, The Replacements, Wanda Jackson, indie pop, shamelessly good hip-hop, classical compositions, metal and more. I like watching documentaries and French films, especially Godard. Stoner comedies are a must and I always laugh my ass off when watching Hotrod. Chick flicks are alright as long as they have intelligent banter and I can really get down to some cheesy and over-dubbed kung fu. Check out Jackie Chan in 199's Drunken Master -- it's gonna blow your mind. Favorite movie of all time: Some Like It Hot. Reading a ton of Tom Robbins and e.e.cummings at the moment. Dig the beat poets. One of my favorite novels is Sport And A Pastime by James Slater. I love hitting up the library to grab books on raising chickens, growing your own medicinal plants and photography.
