About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Saving for my next adventure!
ABOUT ME
Hey there, I'm a friendly, open-minded person who loves to meet new people and see new things. If my friends were to describe me, I feel they would comment that I am kind and soft-hearted. I think they would also say that I am always trying new things, and thrive on giving 110% to anything that interests me. I happen to be interested in travel; discovering new cultures and finding new friends in a different country has always been a passion I cared to pursue.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life for yourself, and learn from all experiences, good and bad. I have a lot or learning and growing to do - a lot of experiencing on my horizon. I can't wait to be on the road again!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've been back from traveling for about 8 months. I returned to Vancouver, Canada, and am saving up for my next trip abroad, where I hope to be putting my new TESL certificate to good use! I hope to go to Southeast Asia next. :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I Have had mostly positive experiences with Couchsurfing. I do think it is pertinent to express that women in particular should meet their host in a neutral place and get a feel for this person, and be forthright with their intentions, goals, and boundaries, in order to avoid confusion or discomfort.
Interests
I enjoy writing, reading, cooking and baking, traveling BC, and maintaining a healthy and happy relationship with both my boyfriend, Brett (a fellow traveler), and my poochie, Anitchka.
I am captivated by art, and hope to expand my photography portfolio with the moments I capture and the sights I behold in a New World.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading. I am enamored by Greek mythology, (for instance, the Odyssey), and I was recently acquainted with Tom Robbins' Jitterbug Perfume, which has become a favorite, as well as Not Wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findlay, and 1984 by George Orwell, to name a few. I love all kind of music - I am always happy to go to live musical performances. Especially music that's high-energy - punk or ska music is great to dance to :)
Film is interesting. Not necessarily a passion of mine, but most certainly an outlet for self-expression, and in being such, it is a form of art I appreciate.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I find creativity and creation inspiring traits in life, as well as true good-heartedness. I have had more than a couple awe-inspiring moments during my travels - my time spent hitchhiking and basically relying on the kindness of others; their warm and friendly outreaches will never be far from my heart.
Music constantly leaves me speechless, and I would have to say that moments spent basking in the scorching spotlight, staring up at an incredibly talented (not to mention brave) musician is pretty darn amazing. I love a taste of authenticity in inspired works, and I found both Gogol Bordello and Streetlight Manifesto performed beyond any lukewarm experience as far as talent and all-around good energy.
In Prague, I saw Gypsy.cz play, and they were wonderful; I also saw Skaza Orchestra play in Berlin, and that show ruled.
The people I've met and the beautiful places I've seen will always, to me, be part of the amazing life experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm knowledgeable in some literature, and I love arts and crafts. I have keen taste buds, and love to learn of local delicacies, as well as show off my skills in the kitchen (I love to cook).
