About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I travel, therefore I am

ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as pretty responsible but also someone who can have a good time as well :) I like to party, I like to read - I like to balance the fun with the hard work and I like to take new opportunities as they come along, especially if they involve world travel in any way :) I like looking out for my friends and taking care of people and I love to socialise and chat all night while indulging in lots of chocolate. I feel happiest when I'm laughing with friends and having a good time. People say I'm well traveled but that didn't really happen until I went onto my first student exchange to Malaysia which my university pretty much paid for. I got to get a taste of traveling and fell in love, so when I got back to Australia I started applying for another exchange to France but then noticed a Journalism program which came with a VERY generous travel grant to Finland and Norway. So I applied not knowing what would come of it, and then I got IN - Since this trip was guarrenteed and would be really good for my career, I sadly canceled the trip to France but have had an awesome time in Finland. I'm now (January 2012) living to France as an English teacher's assistant, to learn the language properly and live in France for a while - something I've always wanted to do. I've manged to travel to Belgium, Germany, Paris and Alscace (a region in France) and plan many more travels for the upcoming year!

PHILOSOPHY

Why blend in when you can stand out?, You can achieve anything you truly want, What goes around comes around

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My favourite way to get involved with couch surfing is being a surfer and attending couch surfing events. I would like to host one day, but I think I will need to wait until I have my own place and I'm settled back in Australia for that to happen. I find my couch surfing activity increases a lot whenver I'm in Europe, there is a much bigger couch surfing community here than in Australia at the moment so when I go back home I don't use it as much :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think studying on the other side of the world and then traveling around Europe has been the most amazing experience of my life so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think what I really want to do here is make people feel at home - I really enjoy planning a day for someone so they make the most out of my city, I love helping exchange students who come to Australia and giving them no-bullshit advice when I can and I want to extend that to travellers. I've also been learning a second language for a long time and when you do that you'll never make fun of someone for making mistakes in your language :D So I think I can be a fairly patient English-language teacher for someone who wants to practice English and I can also teach some French too if anyone wants to :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Monaco, New Caledonia, Russian Federation, Singapore, Sweden, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
