About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Practice bodywork, play music, sing mantra, learn energy work

ABOUT ME

I love learning about people. I specialize in having conversations with strangers that are more intimate and personal than I've had with people I've known my whole life. There's something about traveling that lends itself to that kind of thing.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone is doing the best they can with the circumstances and tools they're given.

Live your own life, and don't waste your time or emotional energy being unhappy in someone else's version of the world. Strive to love yourself and give others permission to do the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a lot, failed miserably by never successfully hosting anyone, and gone to a lot of meetups.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Meeting wonderful and interesting people in Spain through surfing and meetings, surfing in Amsterdam.

Yoga (Bhakti, Hatha), liberation from oppression for All Beings, the cause and treatment of mental health issues like depression and anxiety; community and communication.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am absolutely thrilled with anyone who's willing to expose me to the stuff they love and tell me why.

I recently finished with a nanny job (3 months with a 6 year old and tiny baby- phew!) and with all my creative energy unleashed I have been playing guitar a lot. I sing mantra, anything uplifting, speaking to the truth of the world. Bhakti Yogi <3

When I read good fiction I have a hard time doing anything else- A Wrinkle in Time, The Giver, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Frankenstein, Clan of the Cave Bear, Pillars of the Earth, Fall of Giants, The Princess Bride

David Foster Wallace has been expanding my mind and vocabulary lately thanks to a good friend who's probably wanting her book back by now...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Realizing the vastness of the world and diversity of the people in it. Befriending a Greek nun, climbing in the Pyrenees of Spain.

Seeing people thrive and practice gratitude despite all manner of shitty circumstances.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching/mentoring people in languages, learning new languages or new things about the ones I already know. Thinking about language, practicing others, learning new words, just engaging with language in general lights up my brain. I love the insight I gain by explaining or teaching concepts to others.

yoga- can probably do all three, definitely learn.

I'm learning how to feed myself- teach me your recipes and I will try to teach you something or at least buy the ingredients...
