ABOUT ME

Greetings!

My name is Sam, and I hail from a small town about 30 minutes north of Portland, Maine. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in International Studies with a minor International Government approximately two years ago, and I currently am doing the year long Outdoor Leadership Program at Greenfield Community College. I have to admit that I am always searching for ways to go back to school! This also links to my dream of going back to school to receive my Master's in Sociology.

After graduating from college, I spent my time traveling and picking odd
jobs. I worked as a camp counselor/outdoor educator for a camp in
Snowmass, Colorado (I ended up staying longer at the camp than expected).
I've also volunteered with WWOOF in California. I actually have a lot
of funny/overwhelming traveling stories. :)

I believe in exploring the world because it gives you the opportunity to look at the world in a completely different perspective and develop your own outlook on life in general. I am always up to learning and doing new things. I enjoy traveling and exploring this phenomenal world of ours with friends or on my own.

In my free time, I enjoy doing all kinds of recreational activities which explains why I'll be doing the year long Outdoor Leadership Program at GCC this fall! I am also passionate about agriculture. I've been taking some online courses
with UMASS under their Sustainable Food & Farming program. I'm always
searching for ways to be involved with agriculture - as I am hoping to
find a job in agriculture. I am also passionate about the environment,
animal rights, and women's rights.

I have never had any couchsurfing experience. I've only slept on friends' couches so far.
