ABOUT ME
I like learning new things... I like having good friends and making new ones, you can share what you know and have good fun.
I am a lover of the outdoors, I grew up in New Zealand at the beach so I guess it's kinda by default that I enjoy hiking, surfing, swimming and exploring... i'm always up for the adventure.
PHILOSOPHY
The most important things in life are friendship, love, learning, personal growth, tolerance and altruism.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to participate by hosting people and being hosted.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed for the first time in 2013 when I went to India, I had never been couchsurfing before and I was really nervous about it. A friend of mine is part of couchsurfers and had arranged for us to stay with a young couple in Delhi. They were so nice! It was great to land in a new place and have instant friends, so much better than staying in a guesthouse because it felt like we were staying with family and they were able to give us advice about the local sightseeing. I really enjoyed my experience couchsurfing and have decided that I want to continue to surf and meet people this way and also to host people at my house.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am (mainly) interested in bossa nova, jazz, classical and bluegrass music... and in the general exploration of all kinds of music.
The last two movies that really impressed me were; 'Three Idiots', which resulted in me going to India! and 'The great Gatsby', another great Baz Luhrmann film. I haven't read anything in quite a while... the last thing I read was 'Oracle Bones' by Peter Hessler, which is a really good insight into modern China if you are interested in that.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently, the Himalayas on the back of a motorbike.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am on a mission to learn Mandarin, I know some and am happy to share what I know so far.
I plan to get better at improvising Jazz on my guitar - if you play, we can jam... it's always good to play with other musicians.
I can teach basic guitar... if you want to get started, I can show you some stuff.
