About Me

ABOUT ME

My name is Samara Jacobovitz and I moved to Paris about a year and a half ago.
I like to dance, listen to music, and go see obscure bands and hole-in-the-wall bars. I love adventures, hiking, river-floating, and swimming. Our house always smells like either baked goods or incense and I love trying new and interesting foods. Very ganja friendly. Rainy Day? No problem- I love to just hang out, watch movies, listen to the rain, do crafts, play board/drinking games, or go puddle jumping/slip-n-sliding. I can show you the best hidden spots of Paris, as well as some of the best, fun tourist spots, and I hope you can do the same for me in your town!

PHILOSOPHY

I live life my own unique way. I'll try anything once for the experience or the story, be it skydiving or tasting frogs legs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done to date is skydiving. It was the MOST incredible experience of my life. We were in a tiny rickety little airplane that was big enough to fit only four people sitting down (the two tandem skydivers) and the photographer. After about a 10 minute plane ride, we had climbed up to about 10,500 feet and it was time to jump. The photographer first opens up the thin, see-through plastic covering used as a door (this "door" is clear plastic about an inch thick...). He exits the plane first, but does not fall. He has to hang sideways from the airplane waiting for you to jump. He seems to have the scariest job of all!! After watching my mom jump first (honestly the scariest part of the whole experience) it was my turn to jump. As my jump guide is pushing me toward the opening, I cannot help but think that this is going against EVERYTHING i have ever known! I just kept thinking "You want me to just fall out of this airplane...?!" Sitting in his lap on the edge of this little plane, we push off and tumble a few times in free fall, upside down looking at the world from a completely different angle. After the first 5-7 seconds of tumbling, I am falling straight to the ground in free fall at 120mph. This lasts about a minute, the parachute is pulled, and then we float to the ground very slowly for the next 5 minutes. You can see miles in all directions, 360 degrees of mountains, ocean, rivers, and lakes. It is the most magical, beautiful sight. Before we jumped I thought it was going to feel like a Drop-Zone-type ride at an amusement park, but it was nothing like that. I wasn't nauseas at all, like I thought I would be. All in all, the most incredible experience I could have imagined.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook, bake, beer bong like a champ, make friendship bracelets, make lanyards, how to let go and relax, how to get through Paris like a pro. Share your stories and experiences and we'll become great friends.
