About Me

Hi, I'm originally from South East England but I left there 9 years ago to travel the world, volunteer and hopefully find somewhere to call home. Or, as it turns out, find quite a few places to call home. I do charity, aid and volunteer work around the world and fund this by working in film and television and sometimes as a teacher of English as a foreign language or by writing children's books (if that plan ever works out). I am destined for the travelers life as I love new people, places, cultures, languages and experiences and was never meant to fall into the trap of "living to work".

I am now travelling with the lovely Daiana, an actress from Brazil whom i met on the set of Game if Thrones. We both love travelling and volunteering when we're not on set. We have so much to see, to do and so many people to meet. I am currently not hosting as I am on the road. When I am in Europe I have a few places to choose from when I am there so always worth asking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've not had the chance to use this enough yet. Introduced to it by my Mum, who is like me, forever on the road and uses it a lot. But I love the chance to meet people from every background and every walk of life and what better way? Often as a volunteer I have to make every penny count but that doesn't mean I can't return the favour by cooking, cleaning and helping out with a 1,000 different jobs while i'm there.

Interests

I've already mentioned why i love traveling but apart from the people and places it also gives me the chance to cook food from all over the world and experiment with dishes, the chance to read in peace, to explore, to get lost and spend as much time in the sea, above and below as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, movies and books are such a mixed love, everything from folk to rock to jazz to blues, Tolkien and Pratchett to Cornwell and Scarrow, The Shawsank Redemption and the Sting to The Fall and Big Fish. Too many to choose from and even a top 10 of each barely scrathes the surface.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Left everything behind for good and headed out into the world with one bag and a thousand directions.

Teach, Learn, Share

What to teach? English (professionally) a 1,000 dishes I've created or learnt, self-sustainable living, great ways to travel, the power of your thoughts and feelings, natural health remedies?
I learn so so much on the road that there is probably a lot I could teach but even more I can learn.
I'll share one little tip, brush your teeth with turmeric and a little water once a month. It surprisingly takes away all those yellow stains and leaves you with shining white teeth. ;-)
