CURRENT MISSION
ABOUT ME
Amy and me gave up our jobs to travel the world before we think of settling down. Our first mission is to travel overland to Australia without flying, many reasons for this include the adventure of it, the eco side of things, and my dislike of flying in general - and we have some family there to visit. We successfully did this 2.5 years ago, and have been travelling/working around Australia. We are currently based in Sydney, both working full time.
PHILOSOPHY
So it goes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Initially we are hoping to couchsurf on our travels in order to see a more authentic side to the places we visit, meet interesting people, make new friends, and lets be honest, save a bit of dosh in the process. Once we are home again, we will open up our home and return the favour.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have couchsurfed using this website twice. Both times in China - in Chongqing and Nanning. Both were great experiences with amazing hosts. We look forward to meeting more interesting people through couchsurfing on our trip, and look forward to eventually hosting surfers at our own home.
Interests
We love outdoor activities, eating delicious food, reading, watching films, the usual. Also interested in design, sustainable design, environmental conservation, and activism. We're very easy going and partial to a few drinks here and there. We enjoy meeting new people and seeing what the world has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books
We enjoy most (good) music, some of our current favourites include: The Cure, The Stone Roses, Jessie Ware, Hot Chip, Fleetwood Mac, Blondie, Dire Straits, Alt-J, Fleetfoxes, Metronomy, Django Django, Bob Dylan, The Zombies, Toots and the Maytals, Motown, Northern Soul... The list is pretty varied and endless.
Film wise, anything goes from gritty dramas to comedy to world cinema and beyond. Some favorite directors/writers include Coen Brothers, Charlie Kaufman, Kubrick, Scorsese, Shane Meadows, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson...
I am currently reading Crime & Punishment (I thought i'd read this whilst on the Trans-Siberian) and Amy is reading Wuthering Heights. We both love a good read...
Some favourite Authors: George Orwell, Charles Dickens, Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson, William Boyd, Irvine Welch, Kut Vonnegurt...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We have just had the pleasure of travelling on the Trans-siberian from Moscow to Beijing. We stopped at Lake Baikal and Ulaan Bataar along the way, where we met some amazing people and stayed with traditional Nomadic familys in a Yurt.
When we first met we did a parachute jump together,
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm trained in design, so would be glad to share what I know in that field. Amy is a dab hand in the kitchen and loves sharing cookery skills.
Things we want to learn: Another language, how to shuffle cards in a cool way, and how to juggle...
