ABOUT ME

I'm a quiet person but I love getting to know other people. I have a big heart and a lot of compassion for others and I'm not afraid to try new things. Well maybe that a lie, I am afraid, but I will usually try it anyways! I'm also a neat freak - a lot of people notice that pretty quickly about me.

PHILOSOPHY

I didn't come up with it but I love the saying that, "The secrets to life are hidden behind the word cliche."

Every time you hear something that sounds like a cliche, it's usually spot on. The secret is, is that there is no secret. Word hard, don't give up, follow your heart.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have only used CS as a surfer but hope to be able to host sometime soon. I have only surfed a handful of times but have had such positive experiences that I want to be able to offer the same thing to someone else!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I originally signed up because I thought the website had a cool concept behind it, but was unsure if I would ever actually use it being skeptical at the idea of staying with or hosting total strangers. When looking at a potential school, I decided to CouchSurf in hopes of getting a better feel of the school/town vs. staying at a hotel. It was a wonderful experience and I am SO glad I did it. It gave me a lot of insight into the area and school specifically from people who had already been in my shoes while offering advice from their first hand experience. All of my CS experiences - while they have been great for practical reasons (saving money), they have also resulted in many friendships with people I would have never otherwise met.

兴趣

I love Norway. It's odd and random because I decided I wanted to move there at 10 years old, despite not being Norwegian or having ever been there. I was able to go though, through a study abroad program at my school, in Spring 2014 for the first time and it was the best thing I ever did. I am more convinced than ever now that it is where I want to be.

Music: John Mayer, Jarle Bernhoft, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, and Jonny Lang are probably my favorite right now. My radio pre-sets include anything from top 40, acoustic, country, and oldies though.

I've lost almost 80lbs to date going for 100! Considering I give up or procrastinate most other things in my life, I am proud that I have made it this far and can see the end in sight!!
