About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be free.

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing, adventurous woman who enjoys meeting new people, trying new things, and being spontaneous. I have lots of activities that keep me busy, but discovering myself is undoubtedly my most important, challenging and humbling project of all.

PHILOSOPHY

"How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone." (Coco Chanel)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking to participate by meeting up with other CSers in my area, going out for coffee with visitors, surfing, and eventually hosting (I'm couchless at the moment, but that will change).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not so into things on screens.

I like rock: a good beat, a good guitar, maybe some horns or piano. I like country. Yeah, I said it. But I don't get sad bastard music. You know the stuff I'm talking about. Buck up!

I love non-fiction short stories - David Sedaris, Kurt Vonnegut, Anne Lamott, Jonathan Ames - stories that illuminate the ways that life is so weird and sweet and sad and amazing all at the same time. I'd love to write a collection of my own some day!

I also listen to lots of podcasts: This American Life and The Moth are my all-time favorite; others include Radio Lab, Bowery Boys, 99% Invisible, New Yorker Fiction and various language lessons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've ever experienced is the bioluminescent bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico. There are these tiny micro-organisms in the water and when they are agitated, they fluoresce bright greenish blue. When you swim in the water, every movement causes your limbs to glow!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a knack for organizing things. Events, vacations, closets, drawers, projects, processes. I know a little bit about lots of outdoorsy things, about the human body and how to keep it healthy, strong and flexible, and I'm good with computers. Also, I love cooking for and with others people.
