About Me

I think my favourite thing in the world is meeting new people! I also love trying out new things, immersing myself in experiences and challenging myself physically, mentally and socially.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

because the greatest travel memories are with the people you meet as well as the places you go to; on Couchsurfing, you are accepting guest in your homes and in your lives, and there is something powerful about receiving, or being received by, people you've never previously met; Couchsurfing helps facilitate the blessing of sharing your time, place, experiences and stories; further, a local base with local people is the best way to explore

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy relaxing to chilled, reflective music, including modern classical, jazz, worldbeat (African, particularly Malian, and North African/Middle Eastern). I love dancing to everything with a beat, including disco, soul, garage, electro, house, techno, grime, afrobeat, rnb, hip hop.

Movies: action & adventure, with comedy (e.g. james bond, bourne, johnny english), classics (vertigo, casablanca, shawshank, etc.), factual (e.g. imitation game, a beautiful mind), sci fi/futuristic (e.g. the Martian, interstellar, inception, limitless)

Books: I have to admit I prefer non-fiction books on economics and world/African history; I tend to buy more books when I'm already in the process of reading 4 others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

learned to ride my first ever motorbike - a Royal Enfield Classic - on a 2,500km trip through Northern India to Kashmir, Ladakh and the Himalayan mountain ranges! (in total, I spent a few months in India, going from Kerala in the South to Kashmir in the North)

Teach, Learn, Share

- Teach: Economics, professional skills & development, English
- Share: discussions on topics ranging from philosophical thought experiments and political-social-cultural analyses to disruptive technology platforms
- Fascinating facts about the world's best country! Did you know Ethiopia has 13 months in a year? And that, for us, 2pm is '8' and 8pm is '2'?! Don't worry, you'll get it eventually, it's just a matter of time..
