About Me
Living in San Francisco, working in Homeless Outreach on a mobile medical van and meeting new friends all over this beautiful planet
ABOUT ME
I grew up in centrai New York, went to a boarding school for high school in New Jersey, and am in my final year of university in south Florida. Most of our family vacations when I was younger were of a tropical nature and mostly in the United States, but we also traveled to Mexico and the Virgin Islands as well. I have always had a passion for nature and love to hike in the mountains, camp with friends/family, run on trails and ride my bike. I have lived in south florida for the past 6 years and as a result have moved towards a very aquatic lifestyle. Some activities that I enjoy now include: scuba-diving, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle-boarding, surfing and fishing. Another passion of mine is live music. I have attended over 10 music festivals and dozens more concerts. The feeling I get when I let myself go and dance to my favorite artists is a truly spiritual experience. I took 3 year of photography in high school and can say that it is my preferred form of artistic expression, but it has been hard for me to transition from B&W film to digital. I am proud to say that I have an amazing group of friends in my life who help me in so many ways and to whom I love helping out as well. My journeys of late (mainly backpacking through Thailand) have really inspired me to explore this beautiful planet and trust that my path will be surrounded by love and endless possibility! I'm a scorpio too!
PHILOSOPHY
I am constantly seeking. I find joy in people, nature, exercise, health, spirituality and service to others.
"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens."
Khalil Gibran
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."
Nelson Mandela
"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes."
Carl Jung
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have unoffically surfed for years now, mostly just with close friends and family members, but am so excited to begin meeting new friends through the couchsurfing family!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Staying with Xochi was a life enriching and extremely enjoyable experience. It was my first official couch surf and I could not have asked for a better host and friend to share it with! From our initial mexican feast at a local restaurant to the sushi dinner that we created later that night, we were well fed and in good company. I learned all about her experiences in Guatemala and met some of her friends down in the keys, one of whom knew my family (small world). The other surfers that were staying there were like-minded and really interesting as well. I can't wait to host Xochi up at my place or visit her again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The single most amazing experience I have had is a hard thing to identify as I have lead a very rewarding life so far, but If hard-pressed, then I might have to say my first times scuba-diving in Thailand and specifically the night dive we went on. On the dive, we saw turtles, shrimp, squid and bioluminescent plankton! It was hard to jump right into the dark water, not knowing what may lie underneath, but once I set aside the fear and just went for it, I was truly amazed and grateful to be a part of this world. I like to say that is how I approach my life as well :)
