ABOUT ME

Grew up in Belgium, Belgium's wonderful but tiny so I moved to Argentina, then Switzerland, now working in Berkeley! I'm a particle physicist on the weekdays but busy trying to break the physicist stereotype :)

My parents gave me my love for cooking, good food and good drinks, and my favourite way to spend a weekday night is sharing those things with good friends. In Argentina I discovered I wasn't as bad at languages as school made me believe, in Switzerland I learned to love the outdoors and the countryside, and since September I'm finding out what California has to offer (first impression: the weather's great. People love talking to strangers!)

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Most of my travels have involved staying with locals some way or another and it's my favourite way of travelling. Hostels are great in a pinch, but there's something fundamentally different about spending time with and getting to know the people that actually live and breathe in a town or city.

Interessen

I love backpacking and hiking, but also sitting on a balcony all day with good friends and a drink. I like sewing, riding my bike, and jumping in the Limmat no matter the weather. Currently wanting to learn how to freedive.

Currently: reading Nabokov and working my way through Marcella Hazan's The Classic Italian Cook Book.
